Even though all the countries we visited are a part of the European Union, many don’t use Euro as their official currency. In Hungary, Poland and the Czech Republic you’ll have to use their local currencies. This keeps everyday living expenses in these countries low.

Europe trip cost calculator: What is the worth of 60 Euros budget travel in Europe?

In 60 Euros a day budget in Europe you can comfortably spend 2 – 3 weeks in eastern European countries. This cost includes:

  • your accommodation at central locations in either AirBnBs or private rooms in hostels or mid-range hotels

Our travel to eastern Europe began in India. So additionally we spent on our return flight tickets from India to Vienna and Schengen visa. This made our overall cost of travelling to Europe from India, 90 Euros per person per day. For our almost 3 weeks in Europe itinerary, we spent approximately INR 2.50 lakhs for two adults (exchange rate when we did the trip was approximately 1 Euro = INR 77.5). This price is inclusive of shopping and duty-free purchases. A similar 3 weeks eastern Europe itinerary for 2 adults organised by a travel agent would easily cost more than INR 4 lakhs.
